十年樹木 遇水架橋

年初胡主席到訪美國，奧巴馬送咗一句「十年樹木，百年樹人」去比喻中美關係發展。

If you want one year of prosperity, then grow grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity, then grow trees. But if you want 100 years of prosperity, then you grow people.

其實，一向都唔係太明「十年樹木，百年樹人」係乜嘢意思。既然奧巴馬講咗句咁差長嘅英文，去查一查都唔係一件怪事，原來英文係差唔多成個典故嘅意思講晒出嚟。

When confronted by mountains, one finds a way through. When blocked by a river, one finds a way to bridge to the other side.

係「逢山開道，遇水架橋」嘅翻譯，但英文句子唔太令人想像到中文裏面嗰種困難重重嘅感覺。

個財政部部長重攪笑，直情用普通話講「有福同享，有難同當。」都唔知好嬲定好笑。每個國家都有自己嘅政策，要做到有難同當，我諗美國同英國嘅交情都做唔到，更何況係一個日日俾你叫佢人民幣升值，天天俾你鬧人權問題嘅中國會聽你支笛?
