Notebook Usability

用咗兩個禮拜 notebook, 不論係 keyboard 或者係 pointing device 都非常之唔好用。

Keyboard layout 係一個完全錯誤，一個 key overload 又一個 function key, 重要係 Home, End, Page Up, Page Down overload 咗上去上、下、左、右入面，都好喇，個 function key 竟然係放喺 Ctrl 位，攪到成日按錯位。

Pointing device 唔夠 precise, click 嗰吓又麻煩，做 drag and drop 時真係攪到 D 手指抽晒筋。

總括嚟講，用 notebook 嚟做 entertainment 都還可以，用嚟開工就真係死得。

米 vs. 飯

當生米煮成熟飯會有乜分別?

廣東話有「食飯」同「咬米」去表達開餐嘅意思。字面眼落，米係要經過細心嘴嚼，先至可以落肚。反觀食飯嘅話，可以係一種享受。

咁大個仔，今次呢個 trip jetlag 得最慘，日日眼光光等天光。

做生意

朋友成日話夾錢做生意，但又未儲夠錢，呢個 trip, 遇到一件無本生利嘅事。話說有間 A 公司嘅需要 outsource software development 嘅工作，撞啱有一個員工自己開咗間 B 公司，因利成便，再將 A 公司嘅 contract 俾咗 B 公司做。而 B 公司就只需要搵 C 公司去做 development, 中間食個差價。

呢條簡直係天橋!

後記: 橋, 音 kiu2, 係諗出嚟嗰 D, 唔係 kiu4, 用嚟行嗰 D. 寫咗出嚟先發現原來天橋有兩個讀音同兩個原全無關係嘅解法。而「橋」原為「竅」字，原意作孔，亦作智慧，粵語中可解巧合。其相同變調有「咁啱得咁橋」。

做兄弟的二三事

噚晚剛做完兄弟，發現咗幾樣嘢:

1. 結婚真係好煩 - 接新娘、簽紙、婚宴，三項活動，咁就攪咗成日
   
2. 攝影師好 Pro - 以前認為攝影技術好加一套靚架生就可以出嚟搵食，但係原來攝影師係不斷咁諗新 slogan 俾大家嗌出嚟，等個影出嚟嘅效果更好。當中亦從旁指導兄弟姊妹們點樣 run 得 smooth D. Amazing Grace 係值得一讚，亦袋咗唔少錢落我袋。
   
3. 影 snap shot 好難 - 尤其係一對新人嘅自然笑容，一瞬即逝。同埋影埋影埋，原來自己好少入鏡，朋友結婚，好似留白咗咁...
   
4. 做兄弟姊妹好辛苦 - 尤其兄弟之首，要顧及太多事，打好多嘅電話，諗好多嘅嘢。我呢 D 只係適合走走糴糴嘅，唯有幫得幾多得幾多。

Software Quality

點解咁多現代嘅公共系統，响運作初期都會出事? 西鐵同東涌纜車嘅訊號系統嘅問題好明顯，東鐵自動煞車系統又要調較過先可以再用。係咪要 squeeze cost 同 schedule, 令到無時間做 testing 同 QA? 又或者 outsource 咗去大陸、印度又或者 development cost 較平嘅地方?

點解會有人相信 software development 可以係一件便宜嘅事?

大學畢業前，同學個家姐話我似 30 歲，但依家俾三唔識七 D 嘅人話我似 22 歲。唔係卦，越大越後生乎? 好可惜我唔使靠樣搵食，而係靠腦...

友共情 - 小學篇之女仔篇

因為學號係由姓名去排，咁啱排响我前面同後面嘅都係女仔，所以呢兩個女同學係特別有印象。一位叫林昭愉，一位叫吳凱怡。

林昭愉我記得係搭校車嘅，嗰陣大家做咗一件紀念品俾對方，我記得未搬屋之前都仲有 keep, 但係搬咗屋之後就唔見咗。

吳凱怡就有一個做老師嘅媽媽，仲帶一幅好厚嘅眼鏡，記得升咗中學之後，我都仲有寫聖誕咭俾佢，跟住收到佢媽媽回信，話佢已經去咗外國留學，之後無晒佢嘅消息。唔知佢依家點呢?

笑看人生

我上司同我睇過掌，話我係屬於短命嘅人，即係五十幾就會瓜老襯嗰隻，即係我已經過咗差唔多一半嘅人生。其實，人長命同短命又有無關係呢? 長命但又頑疾纏身，同短命但活得精彩，我諗我會選擇短命。就算聽日我要走 (最好唔好，我重要幫手做兄弟)，我其實已經無悔無憾。

自問唔係一個咩風頭疐，朋友身邊成日默不作聲，甚至可能開親口都會得罪佢哋。但講真，係呢班朋友我先敢得罪。默不作聲，係將自己抽離，所謂旁觀者清，見到問題就出聲提醒。只要佢哋之後開心，先開罪大家可能係無法避免。因為我唔相信有永遠嘅和諧，只有衝突，先會令大家更了解對方，友誼才會更進一步。

所以，就算我早走一步，我希望可以化為一粒星，响遠方繼續守護住呢班朋友，好感謝大家俾我成為你哋生命中嘅一部份。

閒雲野鷸

好想做閒雲野鷸，好似歐陽修咁，不問世事，得閒同朋友把酒談心，總之唔駛為任何嘢煩。不過，好似响退休前，都唔會做到。有一 D Lifestyle, 係需要用大量嘅金錢去 support.

Software Outsource 上大陸可以 Cut Cost 嗎?

三至四人嘅 China Team 做嘢，香港雖要多一個 Programmer 包底，一個 QA 做 Testing, 半個 PM 去睇實個 Project.

响香港，一個 PM 可以同時睇 4 個 Project, 即係個 PM 睇少咗兩個 Project。一人個 QA, 可以同時 handle 兩個 Project 左右。

香港一個 Project, 通常都係兩個 Programmer. 香港嘅成本係 2P + 0.5QA + 0.25PM. 但咁大陸 Team 就會有 4C + 1HKP + 1QA + 0.5PM.

理論上，四個大陸成員嘅 Productivity 要等於一個香港 Programmer 加半個 QA 加 1/4 個 PM. 仲未計响大陸 setup office, 請人 manage 嘅 overhead.

咁假設間公司依家有四個 Project:
香港嘅 cost 係 8P + 2QA + 1PM
大陸嘅 cost 係 16C + 4P + 4QA + 2PM

同時假設 P = QA = X同埋大陸可以 cut cost, 即係:
HK Cost >= CN Cost
8P + 2QA + PM >= 16C + 4P + 4QA + 2PM
4P >= 16C + 2QA + PM
4X >= 16C + 2X + PM
2X >= 16C + PM
2X - PM >= 16C

如果 1PM = 2X:
16C <= 2X - 2X
C <= 0

即係 C 無 function 過，香港 Programmer 嘅成本只係轉移咗去 QA 同 PM 度，就算大陸成員幾平，條數都係貴過响全部香港做。除非，可以做到負成本...

但係如果 1PM = 3X 呢?
16C <= 2X - 3X
16C <= -X

即係無得救，祝君好運!

就算 PM 無 Cost, 16C <= 2X. 即係請一個香港人要等於請到八個大陸人。

實在的存在

X'mas Vacation

盼望天星的聖誕

上年平安夜，上過山頂去過尖咀，搭住船過海，响中環嘅天星碼頭度，影咗幾幅相，攪到個人好似好忙咁。今年，無呢支歌仔唱，政府家陣拆緊個碼頭。不過，依然有得影，會有人去請願，要求復修碼頭，作為一個天星 project 嘅終結，話唔定到時成真嘅時候，D 相會係好好嘅素材。

都係嗰句，可以唔拆，就唔好拆啦...

政府... 對不起，你今次計錯數，搵錯時間拆鐘樓。除非你封咗大會堂一帶，否則响平安夜，再唔係幾十個人，而係平安夜人潮，加上傳媒亦都要去報道市民點慶祝，要好似之前咁清場，都唔係一件易事。

蠢人

有白痴嘅 developer, 就有蠢嘅 user. 當話 user 蠢嘅時候，自己亦要諗吓自己係咪白痴嘅，例如：
- 詞不達意 (好多高人都係咁，諗嘢太高太遠，同平凡人溝通唔到...)
- 答非所問 (總有人講「問非所答」，完全唔啱 logic...)

人生的留白

我發覺，我已經習慣將陌生嘅嘢扮到好熱情咁，人同事都係咁。他朝有一日，當呢 D 人同事唔再同我有關嘅時候，我可以好快咁劃清界線。而呢個習慣，係上咗大學之後發生嘅事。

所以，一去到抽離嘅情況下，我好快就知到邊 D 人係講心，邊 D 人係講金。到依家，我只可以講，我好耐都無再識過新嘅人同我講心。當然，好多以為係講心嘅，到頭來被我發覺佢係講金啦。呢 D 真係好討厭，最憎就係 D 唔老實嘅人。

The September Eleven

Five years ago, I came back to Hong Kong on August. The economy is bad. However, I think I could still a decent job quickly. A month later, here's come Sept 11. The economy became worst at that moment. Since then, I was jobless until November.

Life as a Project Manager

I am very busy these few weeks. I tried to avoid to be a project manager for a long time. However, it's time to taste it again. It was not a good experience when I was handling an ERP project as I was a rookie. Now, it has been two years. I hope I could handle the projects more appropriately. However, it doesn't mean I can handle four projects at the same time...

商台開咗一個長篇廣播劇叫《黃金少年》，Season 1 個 tag line 係「有能力，就有價值」，Season 2 個 tag line 係「有價值，就有權力」。如果兩句係 transitive relation, 就可以演譯成「有能力，就有權力」

呢幾個月攪個 project, 將我識嘅人攪到氹氹轉，依家想話轉 Vendor? 傻啦，呢 D 嘢實有 cost, 我會慢慢玩，我嘅權力就係嚟自我嘅能力，雖然係見唔到，但係係好 Powerful.

十一年

話說個識咗十一年嘅朋友接咗一個唔應該接嘅 project, 仲攪到同我以前嘅舊老闆攪到關係好差。唔知呀，個 project 死嘅話，我舊老闆就會俾人告，但係個朋友又做得好痛苦，我唯有出手啫。真係攪到我成個月都唔得閒。呢幾日終於好轉少少，但係同朋友嘅關係好似差咗。

都幾驚，十一年嘅感情，我唔想就咁無咗，何況我之前仲問過佢一個怪問題，就係會唔會因為工作合作而反目，佢當初嘅答案係會。呢幾日我都好擔心，今晚終於同佢傾咗個短計，好開心佢原來無嬲我，真係好開心，尤其係最後一句:

雖然我無奈, 但又覺得無左你幫我擋住
我會十分痛苦
所以我係多謝你多過埋怨好多

真係差 D 喊咗出嚟。或者呢個世界上係需要一 D 嘅經歷同痛苦，先至可以令一段平淡嘅友情更上一層樓。

More on US Trip

I did have some luxury time in my US Trip. My boss took me to Laguna Beach at the weekend. We took some nice photos. I posted them on Flickr. The weather was so nice. Sunny with cool wind. I would be great if I could swim there.

Project Management

I has been a long time I haven't blogged here. I feel quite exhausted after these few months. Doing project management is not fun at all.

Last month, I have my first business trip to US. I finally met the people in UCI, our major client. The trip is OK. I went there to deploy an online survey. However, it seems that they are not quite satisfy the outcome. Still waiting for their final conclusion now.

After I came back, another private project is dieing. People working in in-house environment do not know how to manage software project properly. I needed to pick-up everything even I was suffering from jetlag. I think my hardest time has gone. Now, I need to prepare for the mid-term exam.

Stormy Night

Last night was a stormy night. At the time to get on the bed, it rained heavily. I was forced to use the ear plugs so that I can get into sleep. However, when there was a storm, I can feel my bed was vibrating. I put my pillows beneath my bed as shock absorber and I slept nicely.

蟹與羊的關係

好朋友是白羊座，投挈的同事是白羊座，姪女也是白羊座。
老同學是山羊座，哥哥也是山羊座。

而我卻是巨蟹座，性格跟他們完全相反，但卻跟他們可以合起來。這是人定勝天嗎?

差不多一個月，大螃蟹都沒有跟魚魚見面，也差不多有一星期沒有任何通訊。這算是空間嗎? 掛念是很掛念的，外面是堅硬的外殼，但內裏卻是脆弱的心靈。昨天，他們又再相遇了。

魚魚為答謝大螃蟹之前的幫忙，做東請客。很豐富的晚餐，飯後魚送了一粒很趣緻的零食給蟹，蟹很開心，回到家連忙拍照留念。很好吃，很甜，很開心!

昨晚，蟹錯過了很多機會，因為小小的潔僻，只送了一張空白的小咭片做書籤。綠燈在閃，也沒有拖著魚的手過馬路。只可以說，上天給你機會也沒有去好好地把握，大螃蟹註定要慢慢努力吧!

大螃蟹對 2 月 14 日的事情梗梗於懷，將本來要送的禮物都放在一旁了。聽了笨羊的勸告，將步伐放慢一點，沒有在生日帶出甚麼驚喜。這也是對的，魚魚這幾天也有很多事要煩，不再為她添煩添亂，事情也好解決。

等了一個多星期，大螃蟹約了魚魚，在她上班前放下禮物，便離開了。大螃蟹發現，原來愛一個人，並不需要長時間相對，只要見到她的一個笑容，就會感到滿足。而她的笑容，的確很可愛、很甜美。

糟糕了，時間拖得太久，大螃蟹開始原形畢露，變成被動的位置，甚麼看影畫、吃晚飯、看夜景，活動都安排得很好，但是，大螃蟹該多說兩句話吧! 在女孩子面前，別太節省，要錯過機會的!

The first day of Lunar New Year

We went to Chinese resturant to have our lunch. Dad opened an 8-cent credit card statement. Lucky that 8-cents mean 8 divine spirits in Chinese. So, we have "8 spirits celebrating the new year" with us (八仙賀歲).

Then, mom said let's go visiting my brother in Shenzhen. We went to Macau first, dad played in a casino to win the cost of trip and go to Shenzhen by ship. We had some snack on the way. When we have the dinner in my brother's apartment, we only ate a few. Then we come back by bus.

When we went to the bus station, the cab went through where I used to be. The Bing hai highway (滨海大道). The roadsides seems changed alot. Unlike 3 years ago, there are so many trees and building along the way.

Then we came back to Hong Kong. We have a nice round trip (行大運) today.

大螃蟹與魚魚相約在黃昏，欣賞無限好的夕陽。可惜，天公不造美，大螃蟹最後也見不到魚魚。可以做的，只有在牆上用鉗刻下對魚魚的思念，再送給魚魚。

在 05 年夏天，魚魚在大海中撞了一隻大螃蟹，大螃蟹正好悶著，跟其他的海洋生物堆沙丘，魚魚便跟大螃蟹談起天來。

時間一直過去，不知不覺間，大螃蟹被魚魚深深的吸引著。半年後，大螃蟹終於跟魚魚說：「我喜歡你。」大螃蟹，可以得到魚魚的青徠嗎?

How to trap a stupid...

In newsgroup or forum, there are many stupids who think they are smart. Following the steps below, you can trap a stupid easily:

1. Open some loop holes (e.g. typos) and pretend that you do not see it.
2. Open a many frontlines (arguments that confuses) to shift his or her focus.
3. Shut down the backdoors. Leave the exit open (saying that you won't discuss anymore as two has very different perspective). Leave the lure to attract the stupid (the fact that he or she has not known yet).
   
4. Usually, a smart guy will see the exit and prepare to step off from the stage.
5. However, a stupid will take the lure seriously (he or she will try to argue the fact).
6. Congratulations! The stupid now is trapped and you can do whatever you want (humiliation; ask him or her to shut up; with correct wording, you can make him or her disappear from the newsgroup or forum)!
   

The First Date

Finally, I asked the girl out last night. We met in TST station and had our tea in a Japanese resturant. I think we have a good conversation. I think she has gave me another chance to have another date. That's great!

How much does a vendor certificate worth?

If you have enough experience, do you still need the certificate?

What is the certificate for? It proves that you are capable to do something.

In an interview, if you have the experience to prove your ability, does the certificate help at all? It is questionnable...

鐵路A計劃

小弟第一隻沉迷嘅 PC Game, 就係呢隻「鐵路A計劃」。嗰陣佢每次入 game 都要打密碼，本 manual 後面就有一堆深底色嘅黑字密碼，有一塊紅色透明膠片去令到 D 密碼易睇 D. 小弟到最後用 word 打咗，print 埋出嚟抄俾同學。

前身為鐵路帝國, 一款由日本Artdink公司所製作的遊戲, 卻讓Maxis破例代理發行, 可見其魅力之所在. 在國內由電腦休閒世界(軟體世界子公司)代理並中文化, 在國內引起熱烈的迴響. 且中文化的版本多了高雄場景, 讓遊戲更有親切感. 遊戲中你要從一片荒地慢慢的開發, 既然名為鐵路Ａ計劃, 當然就是要靠鐵路來促進發展囉. 各種大大小小的建築物發展都需要材料, 因此鐵路的規劃就變成非常重要的一環. 遊戲中還有股票機制, 你也可以靠股票大賺一筆. 除了畫面精美外, 遊戲的音樂非常的悠閒, 而且還有日夜變化. 看著高樓慢慢的蓋起, 各種不同的火車穿梭而過, 那種成就感真是難以形容啊... 後來又推出一款"鐵路Ａ計劃～開天闢地篇", 也是由電腦休閒世界代理並中文化, 可以自由編修遊戲中的各項設定.

回憶

前排响 newsgroup 度 post 咗一篇懷舊嘅文，先發現有好多往事可以回味。所以，得閒嘅時候會寫日記之餘，呢度都會寫少少懷舊嘅文章。

Mario DDR

My friend and I bought Mario DDR together. Last Sunday, we gather with our friends to enjoy the game.

I haven't play DDR since I was in college. However, I pick up the beat quickly. It's good to play it again. I played it for hours with some rest. I was really tired. It can actually compensate my workout day.

Since the game only supports two dance mats, some of us were playing the computer game while some of us were playing Mahjong.

After the game, we had a nice hotpot together. Then, the DDR is abandoned. My friends keep playing computer game and Mahjong. I was too tired and watched the TV alone. Since it was so quite, I take the chance to test drive my new bought digital camera. The functions are really great. The 7.1x is already fantastics. It was what I bought for. The pressure of homework is accumulating. I think I'm going to die this weekend... But I have no intention to do it all.

Online Game 淺談

大家都知 Online Game 係點玩，但係又知唔知點解咁吸引呢? 收月費嘅，個個都知點賺錢，但係 D 免費嘅 Online Game 又係點賺錢呢?

以小弟玩緊嘅「熱血江湖」為例，又要 set 一堆 server, 又要不斷咁加 feature, 又要唔收錢。你會唔會肯投資? 今次先講吸引力，下次再講賺錢方法。

其實 Online Game 不外乎打怪獸、練功、升級、解任務。隻隻 Online Game 都係咁，玩與唔玩，就要睇幾樣因素:

1. 宣傳、口碑 - 第一當然要俾人知道先
   
2. 入場費 - 當然通常都係好平，吸引玩家
   
3. Server 質素 - Server 如果好 Lag, 就聽執都得
4. 人物畫功 - Q版、大人版，可愛、恐佈任君選

呢幾樣就差不多決定有幾多人入場玩。好喇，跟住就要取決於隻 Game 嘅控制有幾復雜，即係如果攪到好似 Doom 咁幾百個制，又攪到頭暈眼花，真係幾難留得住人長玩。

• 一開始，打怪獸最緊要易打，俾咗滿足感人，升級又快嘅，咁玩家自然有快感啦！
• 跟住一班人又可以組隊打怪獸，交朋結友嘅因素，已經係一個好大嘅誘因(例如叫埋自己好友一齊玩，又或者同另外一半一齊玩)。其實，如果計經驗值度計得好，可以令人感覺升級升得快 D, 咁咪可以今到呢班人定時定候練功。
• 到解任務，獎品同獎金唔少得，任務同任務之同嘅關係 set 得好，令到唔解任務唔得，咁當解任務後，又有滿足感俾玩家。
• 升到某一級時，可以開新門派，做掌門，呢個就無得頂。
• 當然，賺錢係每隻 Online Game 都唔少得嘅項目，開舖頭係一個好大嘅誘因。

總括嚟講，一隻 Online Game 可以吸引到唔同嘅人:

1. 升級
2. 交友 - 我見過有人不斷將寶物送俾人去建立友誼
   
3. 賺錢

呢 D 都係可以帶俾玩家嘅滿足感，當加入埋競爭原素，咁可能有玩家見到另外一個人嘅攻防皆強，就自然想急起直追。而商機，就係响呢度出現。

Gaming Addiction

These two months, I am addicted to a Korean game. I need to stop it as soon as possible. The homework is going to kill me soon.

Reunion

We have the reunion gathering on Sept 3. We had a gathering last month. Now, we have more people to join in and with our form master. However, 10 people may be the limit I have.

I Found Her!!!

A girl with long hair, big eyes, and wearing glasses were the criteria in my mind to select a girl friend. This evening, I found this girl. However, it's too late already. I no longer have this preference.

I am very happy though. Most people said that it would be hard to find one but I found one. It's kind of dream-come-true feeling!

Busy Week

Work can't make me busy but the school can. The duration of the summer semester is short. The schedule is quite compact. In the next few weeks, my schedule is full of school work. Lucky enough, I'm not busy at work.

It's Twenty-Six

Ten days ago, it was my 26th birthday. My colleagues have throw a small party at lunch. I also got a gift from a friend of mine in the evening.

There aren't anything interesting but it's still good to have a birthday. At least it could be an excuse to have fun.

雙羸

話說我舊同事間公司要做一個 system 去 keep track 一 D vendor 報嘅價。本來係要搵 freelance 做，我就無時間，推咗。但係就醒起可以俾公司做，就叫個 IT Manager 直接聯絡我。

咁上咗去佢哋公司了解完個 requirement, 我哋又報咗個價俾佢後，間公司又 OK 喎！依家我公司又有生意做，我又可以分到佣。有時獨食，真係難肥，但係退一步，係可以做到雙羸嘅！

Crush Course

Having class everyday is not fun at all. That's what happened in these two weeks. We got to finish up a financial computing course in two weeks. Interleaving with other one-class-per-week course, I needed to have one class each evening.

Now, the course is over. It's much relax now.

Social Network

This is the third entry of today. It's been a long time I didn't blog. I would like to keep the diary before I forgot it. OK, here you go!

An old colleague now works in a toy company. The company need a simple system to keep track of the quotations provided by the vendors. I thought it a freelance job. So, I decided not to take the job. However, I thought what they needed was some professional service. Thus, I refered the job to the company.

Suprisingly, it IS what they needed. Now, we have worked together to get the requirements and the implementation is starting. Best of all, I can get the commission. This is a win-win situation!

Rest

After the final exam, I thought that I could have a nice rest. However, there were tons of work waiting for me to pick up. I metally turned into "denial of service" mode. I thought I behaved badly in company those days.

Gathering

Last month, I have a nice gathering with my schoolmates. They are the executive members of the Computer Club in the secondary school. They are two years younger than I am. One is going to study MPh while the other is working in Australia.

We haven't met for about 7 years. We went to a pub and chatted. We shared our experience together and had a good time.

Publicity

Finally, my JavaScript Ofuscator got published in Ajaxian.com. The reaction is quite good. I love this feeling!

Linguistics

A friend of my talk about the GRE in the gathering last week end. He said he would like to study French because of that. This reminded me the linguistics course I've taken in the university. So, yesterday, I borrowed the textbook from HKU Library to study it again to see if I can derive something from it.

Friends! Friends! Friends!

Last Thursday, I tried to call one of the lost classmates. I didn't contact with him since I left Hong Kong. When I came back, all people said that he couldn't be found. So, this time, I tried to call him. Luckily enough, I found him!

Also, I had a gathering with my secondary schoolmate last weekend. We played badminton and video games together. It was a fun gathering.

This Friday, there will be another gathering for the old Computer Club executives. I look forward to it.

New Web Site

It's been a month I haven't update this blog. It's a hard month as it was the end of the semester. Assignments and preparing exam make the life so hursh. Not to mention the work from the company.

Now, exams were all finished. I've launched a new web site as a repository for my technical knowledge. I'll keep updating it to build my reputation.

Warrants

I was quite lucky to catch the up and down of the market these few weeks. I sold the AUD and then buy some call warrants of Hang Seng Index. Then buy some puts, and then calls. The total profit is about 10%.

Bad Weeks

These few weeks are bad weeks. I met a girl on April 2. She was a nice girl. Not my cup of tea, however. By the way, she was a member of direct sales company. It turns out that I need to meet with those guys for the whole night. What a waste of time.

Next day, I bought a birthday present for my best friend. It's a Green Jasper crystal for career purpose. I gave it to him on Monday and he got an interview right after the holiday.

Besides the crystal, I also bought a electric toothbrush. The old one was broken. Luckily enough, both crystal and the toothbrush are on sales. They didn't cost too much.

Today was really bad for me. I have just argued with the friend how he should find the next job. We have different perspectives and both of us were not necessarily wrong. I wish I was wrong and hope he can find his dream job.

Easter Holiday

This Easter Holiday is really boring. I watched a long Japanese drama and a whole piece of Anime. The only interesting event happened was a girl get contacted me. We will meet together this Saturday. Stay tune!

Tons of homework is going to be turned-in. I can't start doing them until the last minute...

Job Hunting

In these two weeks, a friend of mine was preparing going back to the job market. Writing resume and writing cover letter are really the state of arts. They can never get perfect even we keep revising them.

Anyway, he is going to implement the code as an exercise of learning PHP.

ICQ

小弟有個怪癖，就係得閒時去睇人哋 ICQ 嘅 Info. 我覺得 ICQ 嘅 Info 係一個表達自己嘅地方，係人都睇得，但係你又唔知有無人睇。人哋睇完，可能笑一笑，就行開咗，又唔會去追究你寫過乜。所以，我自己寫嘅嘢，好多都係內心嘅 說話，又唔想同人講，但求有個知音人睇完，問候吓，就已經心滿意足。

Mozilla

It's has been awhile I using Mozilla Suite as my standard browser, mail client, and newsgroup reader. For the newsgroup reader (i.e. Mozilla Mail), the shortcut keys are very different from what I was used to (the Netscape Newsgroup). I tried to adopt the new shortcut keys but it just aren't making any sense. Finally, I installed an extension, keyconfig, today. Now, I have the optimal configuration.

Besides, there is one little bug that border be for a few weeks. I used to be able open a new tab when I use middle click to open new tab in mail or news article. However, for some reason, it just doesn't work. I also found the bug today and got it patch from the bugzilla of Mozilla.

Thought and Idea

Yesterday, something draw my attention. Some people were claiming that REST would become the standard way to execute web service. Some even claimed that it might replace SOUP soon. For the simplicity sake, I agree that REST is far superior than SOUP. It will be good for the services that are not classified as "mission critical".

REST, however, can be the next wave of RIA. Besides Java Applet + Java Servlet or Flash + AMF, REST can combine with DHTML to do all those screen manipulation, like gmail. Let's see what's going to happen next.

Homework

I've been working on the homework this week. Probably will continue for the whole month. I found that I cannot focus on the homework when I am sitting in front of the computer. I'll try to improve that otherwise I cannot finish up anything.
